How about this super five star review for Mariah’s Marriage recently posted on amazon.com:
This is a hugely enjoyable historical romance, which goes into unexpected territory as it develops. I thought it was going to be a comedy of manners, in the course of which the heroine and hero would gain a deeper understanding of each other’s good qualities, after the initial spark of attraction (is this the only historical romance where the hero rescues the heroine from an escaped pig?). That deeper understanding does come about, but it does so through the characters having to deal with quite serious issues, which show fully the condition of women, even upper-class women, in the early 19th century. There is also some stirring action towards the end of the novel. The author has a wonderful range. I’m hoping she has another book ready to issue very soon.
